Varanasi is a Vistara City
About Varanasi
Situated along the banks of River Ganga in Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi is popularly referred to as the spiritual capital of India. It is the holiest of the seven sacred cities and is said to be discovered by Lord Shiva himself. Owing to this, the town has great historical as well as religious importance amongst devotees.
Once known as Banaras or Baneras and Kashi, this is the place where most people come to live out their last few days to attain liberation. It is one of the oldest cities in India. Pilgrims come to the ghats along the Ganges to wash away their sins in the holy water. Take a walk along the ghats or simply watch the sun rise over the river while on a boat, for an unforgettable experience.
The summer months between April to June are marked with extreme weather conditions. The best time to visit and explore the holy city would be during the winter months of October to March. Don’t miss a trip to the colourful and vibrant city of Varanasi.
