About Jammu 

A beautiful blend of ancient temples and picturesque sights, the city of Jammu is huddled against the Pir Panjal mountains. The winter capital of Jammu & Kashmir covers the southernmost part of the state.

The city of Jammu is located on the banks of the Tawi river, with the Shivalik hills cutting across the area from the east to the west. The Raghunath Temple is the most popular and prominent tourist attraction in Jammu. The space between the walls in the shrine are encrypted with images of the Gods while the main shrine consists of moving paintings of Ramayana, Mahabharata, and the Bhagavad Gita.

Mansar Lake along with its twin surinsar, overlooks the hills and is surrounded by thick green forests and fun filled parks. It spreads to over a mile in length and half a mile in width and is situated 62 kms from Jammu. The lush greenery surrounding the lake makes for an ideal picnic spot. Don’t miss the Surinsar - Mansar wildlife sanctuary while you’re at it.
