We assure you that we will not compromise on the experience that you have grown to love. We have always and will continue to put our customers first – providing a top-notch travel experience.
While we will be taking all necessary precautions, it is imperative that those travelling with us also follow intensive personal precautions and safety measures to ensure we are all doing our part in being safe and make flying feel safe again!
We understand you may be hesitant to travel given the current circumstances but would like to assure that we at Vistara, are doing everything we can to ensure that highest level of hygiene is maintained. We follow world-class sanitisation practices as laid down by WHO and local government authorities. Our customers’ health and safety are of top priority for us and we are constantly working and taking all necessary precautions and measures to fight against COVID-19.
Here is an overview of the measures we are undertaking on ground and in air:
On Ground

- Our staff will always be equipped with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to maintain safety and hygiene.
- Check-in counters will close 60 minutes before departure. Customers are requested to report at least 2 hours prior to departure for smooth facilitation. All customers are required to web check-in and self-print their boarding card, preferably at home.
- Customers would be required to place the check-in baggage on the belt themselves to avoid contact and make a note of the baggage identification number for future reference.
- Payments for tickets or any additional service to be made via UPI or other digital payment methods, when paying at the airport.
- Boarding gates will open 60 minutes and close 20 minutes before departure.
- Staggered and sequential boarding will be followed, allowing those sitting at the rear to board first. Priority boarding will be discontinued for Business Class customers, CV members and Vistara Priority customers in order to minimise their contact with others.
- Thermal screening will be performed at the boarding gate as well.
- All customer and staff touchpoints will be regularly and thoroughly sanitised.
- Wheelchairs will be sanitised after every use.
Inflight

All our aircraft will be cleaned with an approved disinfectant before every flight. All surfaces which the customers tend to touch throughout the flight will be thoroughly cleaned.
Our aircraft are equipped with powerful HEPA filters that trap 99.9% of particulates such as viruses (including coronaviruses), bacteria and fungi and purify the air inside the cabin every two to three minutes.
Customers will be seated while maintaining adequate distance, wherever flight occupancy permits.
Customers seated on the middle seat will be given gowns/wrap arounds, thus ensuring further safety.
Precautions undertaken by the cabin crew:
- Please be assured that our cabin crew has been appropriately trained to minimize chances of contracting or spreading the virus.
Cabin crew will undergo thermal screenings before the departure and arrival of flights and will be quarantined/tested if fellow colleagues or passengers show symptoms of infection or test positive for COVID-19.
For our domestic routes:

We will be combining or discontinuing few onboard services such as the welcome drinks, pre-meal drinks, menu cards and wet towels to limit contact with the customers and to adhere to social distancing norms.

How can you help?

While we will be taking all necessary precautions and safety measures to contain the spread of COVID-19, we urge you to collaborate with us and take necessary personal precautions to make flying safe again:
You are advised to practice high levels of personal hygiene such as washing hands regularly at the airport, before and after eating, while using lavatories inflight etc.
You are required to download the Aarogya Setu app and update your health status. Customers with "Red" status in the Aarogya Setu App would not be permitted to travel.
Please do not touch others’ luggage placed in the overhead bins. Ask the crew for assistance, only if required.
Please note that consumption of outside eatables is not permitted inside the aircraft.
Maintain adequate distance from co-passengers (at least 1 meter) at all times.
While onboard lavatories will be thoroughly sanitised, we urge you (especially children and the elderly) to use the airport restroom facilities for your convenience. Do not queue up in the aisle to use the onboard lavatory. Only one companion should accompany children or the elderly.
